We were blessed to have both Dan's parents and my parents fly into town for Corey's baptism on January 8th! Corey could not possibly have been more excited. My parents flew in on Friday morning and Dan flew back from a business trip to Denmark on Friday afternoon, so we spent the day with my parents. Dan's parents also flew in on Friday and drove up to spend some time with Dan's sister Christa in Fort Collins.
Corey's baptism was Saturday morning at 10 AM. We got up and my Mom made Cottage Cheese pancakes with Corey. We arrived at the church and waited for family and friends to arrive. I was so pleased that Dan's brother Ken (and Sky and Fantasia) & sister Christa came! It was a Stake baptism, but there was no one else getting baptized that day, so it was all about Corey!
Dan's Dad gave a wonderful talk about the priesthood and the authority to baptize. He talked about his own baptism and what he remembers about that day. He talked about how special it was to be able to baptize his children, and what an amazing gift that is. Next, my Mom talked about what it means to get "the gift of the Holy Ghost." She brought a stethoscope and talked about learning to listen to the Holy Ghost. She brought a blanket and talked about how the Spirit of God can feel like a warm comforter. The spirit was so strong! I looked around and saw many tears. It was an amazing meeting!
Next, Dan and Corey entered the baptismal font and Dan baptized Corey a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I will never forget Corey's smile that day. After the baptism, we all headed to Mimi's Cafe for brunch...
My friend (Rachel's Mom), Michelle & me...
After brunch, we went home and changed, then we went to Dan's office for a tour. It really is a fun atmosphere and the kids had fun making a LEGO mini-figure and seeing all the LEGO creations around his office...
Saturday night we had some tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters, so Dan took Ashlyn & Corey. Dan said that he'd never heard Corey laugh so hard! I guess he had a big day, because he passed out in the car on the way home!
On Sunday, we went to sacrament meeting. We came home and had a nice lunch and took some pictures of the grandparents and Corey. I can't believe that I didn't get a single picture of Dan & me with Corey. Ooops! I love these pictures though...

It was such a nice weekend, but it went way too quickly! It began to snow heavily right after lunch, so The Elggrens left to drive back to their hotel and we left to get my parents to the airport plenty early so we wouldn't get caught in the storm.
