On Saturday, July 16th we had a 4th birthday party for Claire, along with her 2 best friends, Peyton and Cambrie. It was fun to have a triple party because these girls are so close and all have birthdays within a few weeks of each other. We chose a garden theme, with flowers and bugs as decor. This was Claire's first party with friends and it was SO much easier to split the party duties with my 2 friends, rather than doing it all alone. It was a beautiful day! Rachel decorated the park pavilion so beautifully and did some of the food, Annette was in charge of games, water balloons and party favors and I did the girls' "4" t-shirts and cupcakes. Claire's excitement grew as the kids arrived for the party...
We began with Annette's craft. The kids made adorable foam and pom pom caterpillar magnets with googly eyes...
Next, Annette did a game where the kids acted like bugs... hopping, crawling and flying. Last, we had a scavenger hunt where the kids looked for toy bugs on the playground...
After the games, we had cupcakes, fruit kabobs, vegetable cups and lemonade. It was fun to watch the 3 birthday girls blow out their #4 candles and attempt to blow out their trick candles that kept re-lighting!

After the food, we gave the kids water balloons! Annette said they were a lot of work to fill, and they disappeared very quickly! Dan and Ashlyn had one balloon they tossed back and forth for a few minutes before it popped all over Ashlyn...
I felt like it was a complete success! Claire felt so special and loved playing with her friends. I enjoyed seeing happy kids and spending time with my friends as well...
We went home and regrouped for a few hours before we did Ashlyn's birthday party later that night!!!
(Above): Earlier that week, we celebrated Claire's real birthday at home with a dinner of homemade macaroni and cheese. We opened fun gifts and cards from family. I can't believe my baby girl is 4!
